I found myself totally mesmerized by this outpouring of steam along the Yellowstone river. The rock was badly decomposed by the heat and chemicals in the venting process. The smell of sulfur was in the air.
The river was such a different force then the steam vents that I wondered who would eventually win, the heat of the vent or the relentless flow of a cold river.
