The Grand Staircase of the Escalante has some very big spaces which results in huge, lonely landscapes.

For most of the day these white rocks sit in isolation, however for a few minutes at sunrise, a warm glow is cast upon them and a very friendly envelopes the scene.

The desert becomes otherworldly for these few precious moments.
