The following day we floated under overcast skies and flood conditions. The river was running very fast, about 6.5 miles per hour. Even the small wave trains had big waves and fun rides at flood stage.

Nobody was totally comfortable because just up ahead was the biggest rapid in the park, Warm Springs. The only thing breaking the quiet of the river was the distant roar of that class four rapid.
