OxBow Bend
I love this little bend in the river as it turns southward. Oxbow Bend is a favorite any time of the year. The moody character of the sky cast a feeling over the mountains that changed every few minutes. The silence of the scene was remarkable, as a few animals passed by. You have a good chance of seeing wildlife here.
On this day I saw a handful of coyotes following the open patches of water and a family of otters teasing them on to the thin ice. An eagle briefly made an appearance in the distance and then was gone. All of this in total silence.
Mount Moran looms big here behind the oxbow.
