Anaeho'omalu

The plane was leaving in just a few hours. If I was going to get this classic shot I needed to get it right the first time. I didn't know if the boats were going to pull out in front of me or stay put, or if the clouds would wreck the whole sunset. A couple of photographers were trying to figure out why I was being so intense. They probably did not realize that everything had to go right or it would be a miserable trip home thinking about what I could have captured.

When I arrived on scene I knew it was stupid to wait until the last minute to get this shot. But this trip was full of time schedules and events to shoot. This was my only chance and I am very happy to show you this result.

In what is arguably the finest scene on the big island for sunsets, Anaeho'omalu is located on the north west coastline and features one of the nicest beaches anywhere. After a hard day at work, this is where my mind goes to relax.
