Farther along the Icefield Parkway the magnificent Peyto Lake illustrates the beauty of the Bow Valley. Above the lake the terminal moraine of the Wapta Glacier can be seen. The glacier itself can be seen above the moraine. This is just the tip of this glacier as it extends all the way around the backside of this mountain.
Although these mountains are not as tall as the U.S. Rocky Mountains in general, they more than make up for it with their rugged character. The Canadian Rockies are some of the finest mountains we have on this planet.
