Elephant Canyon runs from Druid's Arch to above the confluence of the Colorado and Green rivers. These are big, deep canyons with chiseled walls and steep drop offs. The low washes are scoured clean of debris from flash floods. The upper benches are a confusing maze of game trails and fractured ledges. Elephant Canyon is only nine miles long but the canyon is an integral part of Druid's Arch, Chesler Park, Elephant Hill, Devil's Kitchen and finally ending in a dramatic plunge into the Colorado river just above the confluence. In this image Elephant Canyon runs just outside Chesler Park. To the right, is the way to Druid's Arch, about 3 miles away.
