Parade Of Elephants

The Parade Of Elephants is one of the most interesting landscapes in the park. This section of rock is full of arches. In this image you can see two arches. The big one in the left middle of the image is Turret Arch, one of the most photogenic arches in the park. Cove Arch shows up as a sliver on the far left side.

Arches National Park is a series of sandstone formations that uniformly weather into arch bearing formations. The rounded hill shapes in the center and right are petrified dunes. Waves of sand were compressed over time to become round dune shaped rocks.
